Wow! The Thirteenth Anniversary of the Million Man March

I have to admit that I was disturbed, to say the least, when a blogger asked whether or not people liked Min. Farrakhan.  The question bothered me, but the responses angered me.  So much so that I have pretty much quit reading that blog and the blog of some of the commenters.

I was not a member of The Nation in 1995, nor were most of the men at the march. But how can you HATE a Black man that inspired more than ONE MILLION to come out to DC from all over the US (and other parts of the world)? He didn't ask them for anything for himself, only something for themselves. He just asked them to stand up and be present.

Listening to the conversation of men who went often brings tears to my eyes. They speak of it in hushed tones. They talk as if still in disbelief of what they witnessed. More than ONE MILLION BLACK MEN standing together.

To Minister Farrakhan, my husband, my father, my brother and any other brother who went, I say happy anniversary.

p.s. The Minister will make a big announcement this Sunday

Mike, Believe it or not my husband sort of did the same thing. He planned to go but was teaching and coaching football so he had to catch a flight first thing that morning and get right back the next day, but was glad he made it. This was years before we were together.
Thanks for sharing that.

I was in Chicago on the 19th, and the love and support that was there for our Brother far out shadowed the work of the haters. I thank Allah that I know without a shadow of a doubt who Farrakahn really is and that power that he has to bring about true change.
