What I needed

Blogging was what I needed.

I needed a place to say what was really on my mind.

I needed a place to not be seen as a Muslim.

I needed a place to not be seen as a homeschooling mother.

I needed a place to not be seen as a champion for the rights of Black people.

I needed a place to not be seen as a business owner or boss.

I needed to be vulnerable and passionate and confused and unsure.

I needed a place to be seen as Sister P, who is all of those things but not just any one of those things.

I am a person who has a variety of interests and has her own opinions about a lot of things.

I needed a place to practice being myself and not allowing people to "pigeon hole" me.

I got that.

I got what I needed from this excercise and met some great people along the way.

If you haven't realized it, this is my public good bye.
